More than 40,000 customers have so far registered for the tallinja card, Malta’s new transport card, launched on April 26, Malta Public Transport said.

It said that more than 18,000 were holders of a Kartanzjan or 60+ Maltese Identity Card.

A total 85 per cent benefitted from the simple registration process and did not need to upload a photo.

Customers may call 2122 2000 or visit tallinja.com for more info or to register.

One can also register at the open air markets in Zabbar on Saturday, in Birkirkara on May 13 or at Ta' Qali on May 16.
