38 organisations have been presented with funding grant agreements under the EU-funded Lifelong Learning Programme managed by the European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA). The total value of these agreements amounts to €712,000.

Among the organisations benefiting are various state, church and private primary schools, MCAST, the Directorate for Lifelong Learning, the Malta Health Network, the Malta Confederation of Women's Organisations, Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association and the Foundation for the Promotion of Social Inclusion.

Project themes include art and design, innovation and sustainability, wellbeing, social inclusion, active ageing, active citizenship and the environment. These Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci and Grundtvig partnership projects were selected as a result of the call for applications which closed February 2012.

The documents were presented by Stephen Spiteri, parliamentary assistant in the Ministry of Education.

The European Language Label award was also presented to the Easy School of Languages. This quality award recognises new initiatives in the field of teaching and learning languages, rewards new techniques in language teaching and the spreading of knowledge and good practice.
