Twenty-four people were arrested in Gozo over the past days after they were found in possession of suspicious substances thought to be cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy.

The police in Gozo also made a number of roadchecks which led to five motorists being positive when taking a breathalyser test.

Roadchecks in Malta were conducted by the drugs squad, the dogs section and the rapid intervention unit and eight people were arrested. Seven of them were found in possession of substances suspected to be cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy. One of them had already been arraigned, the police said.
