Companies and organisations currently taking part in the Dar tal-Providenza fundraising scheme were presented with participation certificates recently in a ceremony held at the Siġġiewi home.

At the same time Dar tal-Providenza renewed its appeal to the workforce to support its fundraising efforts by pledging 25 cents per week from their wages.

This fundraising initiative was introduced in October 2005 by the then director of the home, Lawrence Gatt.

Current director Fr Martin Micallef said administrators of the home managed to make ends meet thanks to the many friends and benefactors.

“It is for this reason that we renew our heartfelt appeal to employees. Through their support they will help us to continue improving the well-being and quality of life of our residents.”

“We are very conscious of the fact that employees are already being asked to make various contributions to different causes,” said fundraising scheme administrator Louis Schembri.

“For us, 25 cents each week over a long period, from a substantial number of employees, can make a big difference,” added Mr Schembri.

Dar tal-Providenza was founded in 1965 by Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi and today supports over 100 people with different needs.
