A total of 24 police officers have been charged in court with injuring people since 2008, Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici said this morning.

Replying to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Franco Debono, Dr Mifsud Bonnici said 14 of the 21 officers charged with causing slight injuries were found not guilty, the Courts declared the proceedings exhausted in five cases, one was found guilty and one case is pending.

Three officers were charged with causing grievous injuries and their court case is pending.
