A 23-year-old man from Msida was taken to court today, accused of having attempted to seriously injure his father.

The incident is alleged to have happened last Friday afternoon in a house in Sliema.

Michael Cassar was accused of having assaulted his father while carrying a knife.

He was also accused of threatening his father and causing damage to property worth not more than €1,164.

He pleaded not guilty and was denied bail.

Inspector Jesmond Micallef prosecuted.
