The police in the first four months of this year booked 203 people for using vulgar language in public, Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici has disclosed in parliament.

Replying to parliamentary questions, the minister said that between January and April, the police also booked 81 for drink-driving.

30,575 traffic offences tickets were also issued by policemen during the same period.

Six people were booked for animal cruelty.
