Earlier this week, Marcus Ekman, the head of international sales for luxury Swedish rosé wine brand Bodvar of Sweden, visited the Delicata winery, together with his wife and two winning contestants from a leading waterfront restaurant in Stockholm.

The winners were in Malta on a prized midweek break, courtesy of the entrepreneurs’ own label. They were here representing the Strandbryggan restaurant, which once again won the 2013 annual competition that ran throughout Sweden to recognise the restaurant selling the most bottles of the prestigious “lifestyle rosé” wine brand during the year.

Bodvar of Sweden is an own label export version of Delicata’s Ġellewża Rosé Frizzante, that has been produced for Swedish entrepreneur Bodvar Hafstrom exclusively by Delicata for over seven years.

The wine is sold throughout Sweden’s VIP lounge bar and restaurant sector and has become one of the country’s leading premium sparkling rosé wine brands.

Just before last Christmas the wine was also introduced in the esteemed Swedish NK department store, acknowledged locally as the ‘Harrods of Stockholm’. The Bodvar of Sweden NK Rosébar was installed in a prominent position close to the entrance, alongside other luxury brands such as Hermés, Cartier and Ralph Lauren.

During the visit Ekman also tasted and gave approval of the new 2013 vintage of the Ġellewża Frizzante Rosé IGT Maltese Islands wine, which he and his guests tasted straight from the stainless steel temperature-controlled tanks during their tour of the winery.
