Season 2010 was positive from all aspects for the Table Tennis Nursery (TTN).
In a statement, the nursery organisers said they hosted six tournaments in different categories and also involved some of the parents in other events during the year as more newcomers took up the sport.
Coaching sessions continued uninterrupted, even during the summer months, as the TTN introduced the beneFIT pre-season physical training programme in addition to the regular on-table sessions for its young members.
Last year, TTN had three teams in the Malta National League, thus offering more experience to its up-and-coming players.
The nursery also opened a second centre in Tarxien and upgraded the official website.
TTN director David Pace derives pride and satisfaction from the players’ development process.
“Ultimately, our greatest satisfaction is when we see a big smile on the faces of our players after they had won a match, be it in a low-key event or a national competition,” Pace said in the TTN statement.
“It is a great feeling which motivates us to maintain the high standards, also thanks to our collaborators.”
TTN also congratulated the following players for their achievements in 2010:
Adam Zouari, Jessica Pace, Jurgen Sammut, Raul Fenech, Luke Cassar, Michaela Scerri, David Grima, Luca Balzan, Matthew Cassar, Daniel Said, Christian Degiorgio, Karl Wismayer and Sacha Pace.
