The 2009 Olympic Day Run, held last Sunday at St Paul's Bay, brought together established athletes, sports administrators, members of local athletics clubs and other running enthusiasts, young and old. Joe Cassar, general secretary of the Maltese Olympic Committee, signalled the start of the race from Islet Promenade in Buġibba. The race consisted of three fun runs over 2.5km, 5km and 10km. The motto this year was Move, Learn and Discover - three essential elements to start practising sports. As in previous years, the race was organised by the MOC in collaboration with Athletics Malta.
