Some 200 migrants have been landed in Sicily after having been rescued from a boat 75Km off Capo Passero - the southernmost point of Sicily.

The migrants, thought to be from Eritrea, were picked up by the Italian coastguard.

The packed boat included 48 women and a number of children. Some of the migrants needed hospital treatment, having been at sea for a number of days.
