Around 200 companies from Europe and the Euro-Med region are to participate in the ‘Unlocking the Potential’ business-to-business event organised by Malta Enterprise and the Enterprise Europe Network Office.

More than 750 meetings have been requested ahead of the two-day event at the Hilton, St Julian’s, on Wednesday and Thursday.

The event will provide a unique opportunity for businesses to find new, like-minded international contacts.

Businesses will be able to meet prospective partners from different countries personally, presenting a cost- and time-effective way to search for new customers, technology and suppliers.

These factors contribute to the success of such networking events held within the EEN, with past experience showing that practically a third of participants sign some form of contract following a matchmaking event like this one.

Apart from networking, the B2B event programme features seminars and workshops, while an FP7 Café will be set up to showcase research and development projects funded under the EU Seventh Framework Programme and assist them in finding project partners that can supply them with expertise and technology.

‘Unlocking the Potential’ targets companies, research and development institutes, universities and organisations seeking to co-operate in industries such as ICT, renewable energy and environment, education and training services, creative industries and audio visuals, as well as food and beverage processing.

Interest for the Malta event has been registered from the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, Iceland, Russia, Cyprus, Poland and other Euro-Med countries.

Information is available at www.malta121.eu or from the EEN office within Malta Enterprise on 2542 0000 or at info@maltaenterprise.com.
