The prime minister this morning tabled in Parliament the contract made in April 1958 whereby Fort Salvatore was granted to a private contractor to house a concrete batching plant.
The perpetual groundrent was redeemed in 1982, Dr Muscat told Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi.
Although it is in private hands, the fort was recently mentioned as a possible site for the new university in the south of Malta.
