An 18-year-old man from Zebbug is in critical condition after having suffered a head injury at Ta' Qali last night.

The police said their assistance was sought at about 12.45 a.m. The man was in the company of friends when the incident happened. He was reportedly involved in tray sliding, riding on a wooden pallet which was towed by a vehicle. The pellet crashed into a low boundary wall.

The youngster, Robert Attard of Żebbuġ, fractured the base of his skull and suffered a severe haemorrhage, sources said. He was in critical condition and being treated at the Intensive Care Unit after being rushed to hospital just after 1 a.m.
