A total of 172 films were released by KRS Film Distributors last year.
The majority were productions from the United States and the United Kingdom. Other films shown in local cinemas were from 11 countries including two produced locally, Santa Monika and Mhuh.
There were 24 films that played for eight weeks or more with the longest running being the comedies 'The Hangover' and 'The Proposal' screened for 19 and 12 weeks respectively.
The Top Ten Box-Office films of 2009 reflect the popularity of the action adventure and comedy movies.
Six of the films carry 'PG' censor classification with the remaining four having Universal, 12, 14 and 16 ratings.
The placing of 'Avatar' at number five only covers two weeks of playing time to December 31.
