A total 169 police officers were arraigned in five sittings of the Police Disciplinary Board last year, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela told Jason Azzopardi (PN) in reply to a parliamentary question.
The minister said there had been no such hearings in 2013 following a general amnesty on disciplinary cases by the former Police Commissioner.
Seventy-four police officers were found guilty and had their weekly off days withheld for not more than seven days each. Nineteen were cleared of the charges.
