The jitters and nerves have turned up a notch as the 16 contestants shortlisted during last night’s semi-final vie to win tonight’s Malta Eurovision Festival.
The winner, chosen by a jury headed by popular Italian musician Riccardo Cocciante and 33 per cent public vote, will go on to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dusseldorf, Germany in May.
For the first time, the six judges will stand up and say whom they are voting for during tonight’s show in a bid to minimise the conspiracy theories that usually start germinating after the contest.
Tonight’s show, which will be screened live on TVM at 8.30, includes a show by pop stars Blue, the UK’s contestants for this year, who will perform on stage with Winter Mood’s frontman Ivan Grech and guitarist Melvin Caruana.
