A charter plane carrying 152 Brazilian tourists returning from a ski holiday in Argentina was forced to make an emergency landing yesterday after suffering sudden depressurisation, airport officials told AFP.

None of the passengers or crew on board the Argentine-owned MD-83 aircraft flying from Bariloche to Buenos Aires was hurt after the hasty landing in the town of Neuquen, southwest of the Argentine capital.

Passengers told AFP they heard an alarm sound and that oxygen masks dropped inside the cabin.

The airline sent another plane to pick them up and continue their flight to Buenos Aires.
