Fina First fulfilled their season-long dream of 12 titles in a row as week 21 from 23 was played out at the Eden SuperBowl.

Although hindered by injury problems, the Fina big guns picked up the points they required to retain the title yet again - achieving an equivalent of tenpin bowling's much coveted 'perfect game'... 12 strikes in a row!

Second place is occupied by Fina Excel, but is still up for grabs as Aercomms are just four points down in third.

Fina First only needed two points to hold on to the league title as they faced Ramis. In fact, two points was all the weakened Fina side could manage as Dennis Mercieca was forced to retire after the first game due to back strain.

By then the champs had already done enough as game one fell their way 805-686. No substitutes were available for Fina, allowing Ramis to take advantage as they went on to win the match 6-2.

Fina Excel are still favourites to take the runners-up trophy, and had an easy time in their 8-0 win over Royal Shock who have their place booked in Division Two next season. Excel took the series points by a massive 366-pin margin.

Aercomms dropped two points in their win against sixth-placed Playzone. The latter had a poor start but bounced back into action scoring an excellent 867 in the second game, exactly 100 pins better than their opponents. The last game was a thriller, ending 788-815 and going to Aercomms, who clinched the series points by just one pin - 2,346-2,347.

Globalair's slim survival hopes took a hefty blow as they were thrashed 8-0 at the hands of DAB Beer while Duwpa claimed an eight-point win over Technicolor in a mid-table clash.

The other match ended with a rare six-point win for Toons Two against Dream Team.
