The Social Security Department is owed a staggering €128.2 million in outstanding national insurance contributions, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech has revealed in Parliament.

Replying to a parliamentary question, he said that from this figure, one needed to deduct €14.3 million which paid in terms of agreements under the Penalties Reduction Scheme and other payments being made in instalments under the same scheme.
