A total of 123 compositions have been submitted for the Malta Eurosong 2010 festival. The winning song will represent Malta in next year’s Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Norway in May.

Phase one of the festival is being held on December 2, 3 and 4 when all entries will be sung ‘live’ in front of a jury. Thirty-six will make it to phase two. These will be sung ‘live’ in front of another jury on December 7.

The 36 songs in the second phase will also be presented to the public during the TVM programme Sfida between December 9 and January 13.

The jury’s vote will be supplemented by the public’s preference through televoting. Twenty finalists will be chosen.

The final night of the Malta Eurosong 2010 is being held on February 20. A jury vote will accompany the public vote at a ratio of one to one.
