10.035 workers from EU countries were working in Malta as at the end of December, Education and Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo said in reply to a parliamentary question by Censu Galea (PN).

The highest number, 2,074, were Britons, followed by  1,668 from Italy, 645 from Hungary, 593 from Spain, 564 from Sweden and 522 from Romania.

The highest number, 1,631 lived in St Paul's Bay, 1,574  in St Julian's, 607, in Swieqi, and 228 in Naxxar.
