When the Magro brothers first set up a food company a century ago, blood transfusions were a cutting-edge procedure few doctors used.

Now employees at the firm plan to celebrate the company's 100 year anniversary by donating 100 bags of blood by the end of 2016.

A group of employees set the ball rolling on 10 May when they visited the blood donation unit at Gozo General Hospital.

Magro Brothers thanked its employees and hospital staff.

To donate blood, visit the National Blood Transfusion Service at St Luke's, G'Mangia between 8.00am and 6.00pm, or find the closest mobile donation unit to you.
