45-year-old Tony Herbert Walroud this morning pleaded not guilty to conspiring to import and importing some 10,000 ecstasy pills that were found in his possession on his arrival in Malta during a joint operation involving customs officers and the police between Wednesday and yesterday.

The man, who is from Curacao but lives in The Netherlands, was remanded in custody. He was arrested when he flew in from Brussels. The pills were hidden in his luggage.

This was the biggest single find of ecstasy pills this year.
