Libyan People’s Bureau Secretary Saadun Suayeh recently presented a donation of €10,000 to Mariam al Batool School to help it further its educational and spiritual services.

The donation of the Libyan People’s Bureau was handed to headmistress Maria Camilleri in the presence of Omar Farhat, the director of the Malta Branch of the World Islamic Call Society, and Imam Mohammad el Sadi.

Dr Suayeh praised the hard work and the dedication of the school administration and staff, who played a vital role in achieving a good academic level, success and a good reputation for the school.

He also commended the important financial support granted annually to the school by the World Islamic Call Society, and promised to do his utmost to continue to help the school which is a non-profit making institution, depending on token fees and donations and run on a charitable basis, thus helping poor students further their studies.

The school aims to secure a modern education for Muslim students in Malta, maintaining their Islamic cultural identity and preparing them to become good Maltese Muslim citizens who believe in respect, tolerance and peace for the prosperity, development and welfare of Maltese society.
