Some 1,000 tonnes of waste have already been collected as part of an ongoing clean-up project in Wied ta' Żejta, Victoria.

During a visit to the valley, Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono announced that four water reservoirs, two in Wied ta' Żejta itself and two between Victoria and Marsalforn, would be restored as part of the project this year.

Expected to involve about 30 reservoirs, the clean-up is one of 25 proposals listed in the government's plan to turn Gozo into an eco island over next two years.
