ĊirkuMalta, Malta’s first home-grown circus, will feature a performer from the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil in its debut show next week as part of the Malta Arts Festival.

Slava Popov has worked with Cirque du Soleil in La Nouba and Dralion.

The animal-free ĊirkuMalta features local and international performers swinging from a rig three storeys above the audience.

Called Darirari, the show includes theatre, festa, carnival and other Maltese themes.

The Malta Council for Culture and Arts, supporting the festival, said in a statement that the performance Gwerra, Familti... u Ommi, which will be held on Sunday, will start at 9.30pm and not 9pm as originally scheduled. All other performances will start at 9pm as planned.
