Pupils attending Żebbuġ primary school are actively preparing to mark Arbor Day.

The school’s garden, which is split into three areas – citrus trees, a palm and olive orchard and indigenous trees and plants – is being cleaned, and in the coming days, new trees will be planted by children. Half the perimeter of the school will also be planted with new olive trees.

The event will take place on January 29 at 9.30am, followed by a programme dedicated to trees in the assembly hall. The event is being supported by the Gozo Ministry, the Education Office, Żebbuġ council, Hands-on Farming, Ta’ Dirjanu, Gozo Cottage and Farmers Foods.
