MMG Promotions recently announced the first edition of the Żabbar Music Festival, another in a string of large-scale activities that the council, supported by many of the locality’s clubs and organisations, has been staging to aid the regeneration of the town.
The music festival will feature some of Malta’s best musicians, artists and groups, who will come together to perform three big open-air concerts staged over the two nights.
The first night will see the return of The Wall show which was premiered at this year’s Earth Garden and which received very positive feedback.
Pink Floyd fans who may have missed it the first time round are encouraged to grab this opportunity and be present, as the performance, staged by the Malta Rock Movment and featuring over 45 musicians and artists, and with particular attention to lighting and visual details, is truly commendable.
The second night will feature a live performance by Ira Losco and her band, who will be playing her best-known hits, as well as songs from her latest album The Fire.
Also taking place on that same night, the finale of the festival will see Tribali bring their ethnic fusion and vibrant stage presence to the masses once again.
The two-hour performance will be brimming with their positive vibes and widely appealing music, as they present a set culled from their latest album The Traveller, as well as their earlier releases.
The band’s colourful blend of unusual instruments and live energy have now become synonymous with this popular world music collective.
The Żabbar Music Festival will be held on Friday and Saturday in Labour Road. All performances start at 8.30pm. Entrance for all events is free of charge, but the public is encouraged to donate to Puttinu Cares to help children suffering from cancer. Several bars and food stalls will be also set up along Labour Road.
