Triq Ġulju in St Paul’s Bay is a street whose surface is regularly destroyed by heavy vehicles and left for weeks at a time in a sorry state. And, yet, it could be a blessing in disguise.
Option one: it could be used by off-roaders for events. At the moment, it can be likened to a slalom course for cars and light vehicles that have to avoid the deep and dangerous potholes.
I dread to think how a motorcyclist would cope with the surface which looks like it has suffered earthquake damage.
Option two: the potholes could be fitted with roll-over doors, rented out as garages (thus alleviating the chronic shortage of parking spaces in the area) and become a source of revenue.
Perhaps the idea would catch on for other areas.
Any other suggestions?
