A group of six coaches from the Liverpool FC Foundation are currently in Malta to conduct a series of training sessions for young footballers in local clubs and schools this week.

This is the second time that Liverpool coaches are here following their first visit in 2012.

They are specialised in the field of community work and are in Malta to convey their services in various localities.

There will be three training sessions for young footballers between the ages of five and 14 years at the Qormi FC ground.

Besides, the Reds coaches will also conduct talks and training at two schools – the Birżebbuġa Primary and Rabat’s St Paul’s Missionary College.

Another objective behind the school visits is to raise awareness on disability as students will be instructed on how to understand better the needs of visually- and hearing-impaired people.

The training sessions at schools will be conducted in a football-oriented environment, using special implements, including footballs with inbuilt sounds during movement and sound-proof earphones.

The highlight of the Liverpool coaches’ stay in Malta will be tomorrow afternoon at Mġarr football ground where football will be promoted among young children including those with additional needs.

The Liverpool Supporters Club Malta is urging the public to attend the training sessions and contribute, particularly in those events where disabled persons will be among the participants.
