The Budget includes polices in the right direction but the Government had to maintain momentum to be able to implement them, the Malta Institute of Management said.

In a statement, the MIM said that even though the Budget seemed to encourage employment, it lacked incentives for a second chance at education – especially for those outside the formal schooling system.

The institute said that changes in VAT management and the Inland Revenue Department were a step in the right direction but called for the setting up of a commission to review complaints.

On pensions, it said a deeper analysis should be carried out.
