The General Workers’ Union has called for urgent talks over the removal of the asbestos roof affecting workers at the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority.

The GWU said it expected to be consulted on the process of taking down the roof on premises adjacent to the authority’s office in Blata l-Bajda.

It was still waiting for a copy of the risk assessment report and was also expecting the results of air quality tests.
