The bride placed her hands over her cheeks in dramatic excitement as the mouse she loved walked up to her, looking more dashing than ever on their wedding day.

The celebrity couple – Mickey and Minnie Mouse – waved at the hundreds of children who seized the opportunity to attend a truly fairytale wedding.

Princes, princesses and superheroes were among the guests who attended the day-long celebration at Montekristo Estate in Luqa.

The wedding started at 10am and ended with the going away of the newlyweds at 5pm.

Mickey wore a black suit and Minnie wowed the crowd as she replaced her trademark red and white spotted bow with a white one that matched her gown.

The couple, from Disneyland, looked ravishing and no one would have ever guessed that they are, technically, approaching their first 100 years, having been ‘born’ in the late 1920s.

They lived up to their good-natured reputation and agreed to donate the income from their lavish wedding to a good cause – the Appoġġ Children’s Fund – that provides assistance in situations where children need immediate material support that their carers cannot afford.
