The government’s announcement that next year’s council elections will be held in conjunction with the proposed spring hunting referendum was unethical and hasty, the hunters’ federation said.
It said the government may have given in to pressure from individuals and not stood by its own beliefs. Its legal objections were still under consideration by the Constitutional Court and the court’s ruling could be influenced, it added.
The FKNK is also disappointed at Parliament’s “ignorance” of a petition against the referendum, signed by more than 104,000.
