The Nationalist Party has welcomed the government’s decision to exclude Gozo as a possible site for high-rise buildings, but criticised the inclusion of Pembroke for such a purpose.

PN spokesman for planning Ryan Callus said that the proposals being put forward by the government may give rise to low quality structures as they failed to establish a minimum footprint for such developments.

He also criticised the lack of clear demarcation of those zones identified for tall buildings, arguing that such developments had to be carried out in clusters.
