A 32-year-old woman yesterday denied drink-driving charges, refusing to take a breathalyser test and attacking a police officer.

Russian-born Svetlana De Bono, who lives in Qormi, pleaded not guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol, threatening and assaulting a sergeant, slightly injuring him and disobeying police orders.

She was also charged with refusing to have her breath tested for alcohol when taken to the Żejtun police station in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Magistrate Francesco Depasquale granted Ms De Bono bail.
