June was slightly warmer and brighter than average, despite the cool weather in the first six days.

The average temperature was 24.3°C: 0.4°C higher than the norm. The mercury peaked at 32.8°C on June 12, according to the Meteorological Office.

The warmest June recorded was in 2003 when the mean temperature hit 26.1°C, although the highest June temperature ever registered was on the 13th, in 1997, when thermometers reached 40.1°C.
