Although the flu shot this winter proved less effective than in previous years, the European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC) had advised governments to keep distributing the shot because it continued to be effective on certain strains, Health Minister Konrad Mizzi said in Parliament.

He was answering a question by shadow health minister Claudette Buttigieg, who asked when the government intended to tell people about the lack of effectiveness of this season’s shot.
