Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia has condemned any untoward bragging by a member of the police force stationed at Rabat, if a claim of this turned out to be true.

It was being investigated by the Internal Affairs Section, Dr Mallia said in Parliament.

Opposition home affairs spokesman Jason Azzopardi alleged the policeman was often heard saying that he wanted to “blow away” (itajjarhom) all Nationalist-leaning officers from the station.

The policeman allegedly boasted the Police Commissioner listened to all he had to say, and that now “his” government was in power nobody could touch him.
