Hospitals and other public health entities ran up bills for medicines totalling €48,003,933 in 2013, Health Minister Godfrey Farrugia said in Parliament yesterday.

He was answering a question by Opposition health spokesman Claudio Grech.

The biggest outlay was for Mater Dei Hospital at €21,872,135, followed by Pharmacy of Your Choice at €15,653,294.
