The Labour administration found €160 million in unpaid ARMS bills when it took office in March, Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi said in Parliament in reply to a question by George Pullicino (PN).

He said all possible steps were being taken to ensure settlement of the unpaid bills.

The Government was inviting all ARMS clients to reach convenient arrangements for payment.

Whenever such agreements were not observed, ARMS had no other alternative but to suspend services.

To date there had been 176 suspensions of residential electrical services and 179 of commercial services.
