New management of virtual and physical resources
Fujitsu Siemens Computers' new server management suite is now compatible with the centralised management of virtualised and physical servers and I/O resources in the data centre, the company has announced.
The new structure extends the functionally of the Primergy serverview suite, making it easier and more economical to manage servers and storage systems. The new simplified structure includes deployment, analysis, integration and operation management topics.
Primergy serverview suite users will continue to benefit from optimised system availability and workload, automated deployment, and new analysis functions such as extended power management for increased energy efficiency in the data centre. In addition, there are comprehensive options to integrate with enterprise management systems or other providers' management systems.
Extended power management has been integrated in the serverview suite to ensure the holistic, energy-efficient use of the Primergy systems.
In addition to the existing power control functions, power monitoring can be used to monitor and record the power consumption of several servers in a defined period. The new power consumption control function limits server power usage. In addition, the new customer self-service concept for Primergy servers means that users can autonomously maintain certain components and thus reduce service costs, the company said.
