The new Sophie's Space theatre in St Julian's is a state-of-the-art theatre within the convent of the Sacred Heart, and on May 8 and 9 at 7.30 p.m. it will host a prestigious production by a company called European Theatre.
The performance, which will be titled Exodus, will premier in Malta a show that promises to be unique. The project's instigator is Björn Potulski, who described Exodus thus: "Exodus is an international theatre production combining artistic contributions from eight European countries, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Austria, Italy and Malta.
"Exodus is (made up of) contributions from a number of theatre companies all over Europe. For the first time in its history, the Maltese Maritime Squadron is officially contributing to a theatre production. George Sammut is a crew member of the P61 offshore patrol vessel and will be performing on stage."
He will be presenting his experiences (of) an irregular immigration search and rescue mission in rough seas."
Tickets for both performances may be obtained by phoning 2131 7666 or mobile 7931 7666; or e-mail bookings.sophiespace@gmail.com
