A 10-year-old Libyan boy died this afternoon after he was hit by a car while crossing St Andrew's Road in Pembroke, near the Luxol Grounds.

The accident happened at about 3.30pm. The boy was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The car was being driven by a Turkish man, 38, resident in St Paul's Bay.

The boy's identity was only established in the early evening after what the police said was 'intensive investigation'.
