Footage of a private coach belching smoke yesterday drew the attention of thousands, including the police, who will be taking action against the owners.

Lawrence Grech, who took the footage on his mobile phone, said he had acted because the emissions from the coach were disgraceful.

He was impressed by the 'shares' which his post got - some 7,000 - and said the police had also contacted him seeking more details.

At the time the bus was in a traffic jam in Naxxar - ironically in front of a route bus with a Euro V engine that emits far less emissions.
