Matthew Gatt has been appointed head of Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil's office.

This is a new role created to support Dr Busuttil in the renewal process of the party and its structures.

Mr Gatt, 28, is a graduate in economy and has a masters in economic international policy.

For four years, Mr Gatt was Dr Busuttil's parliamentary assistant in Brussels, when the latter was an MEP.

Recently he worked as an economic analyst in the Finance Ministry.
