Three Bulgarians were this morning conditionally discharged for three years after they admitted to living a vagrant life and begging.

Wheelchair-bound Ivan Borisov, 29, Genoveva Dineva, 30, and Kirana Ivanova, 61, had been begging in Valletta for six days and the police arrested them after they received several complaints about them from tourists.

Police Inspector Daryl Borg said they apologised for their actions and said they did not know it was illegal to beg in Malta.
