ROBOTS
Today, Italia 1, 9.10 p.m.

The film is set on a world populated only by robots, with most of the action occurring in Rivet Town and Robot City, home to Bigweld Industries. The hero is a young genius robot, Rodney, who lives in the small town of Rivet Town but aspires to improve the world. After failing to help his father, Rodney decides to travel to Robot City, the robot metropolis, to meet his childhood idol Bigweld. When he arrives, he learns that his hero has been forced out as the head of his own company by the profit-motivated Ratchet. To maximise profits, Ratchet ends production of replacement parts for robots, forcing them to "upgrade" with expensive new parts. Those who cannot afford the upgrades are turned into scrap metal at the Chop Shop, a recycling sweatshop run by Ratchet's mother, Madame Gasket. Rodney teams up with The Rusties - the eccentric Fender, his sister Piper Pinwheeler, and their guardians Lug, Crank, Diesel and Aunt Fanny - and Cappy, a beautiful executive robot who he falls in love with, to bring back Bigweld and help the robot population.

SCHINDLER'S LIST
Tomorrow, Rete 4, 9.15 p.m.

The film tells the true story of the enigmatic Oskar Schindler, a member of the Nazi party, womaniser, and war profiteer who saved the lives of more than 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust. It is the triumph of one man who made a difference, and the drama of those who survived one of the darkest chapters in human history because of what he did.

SWEET NOVEMBER
Wednesday, RaiUno, 9.15 p.m.

A workaholic tycoon meets a seemingly care-free woman who takes a new lover every month. She convinces him to spend a month with her so that she can help him overcome his unresolved emotional issues. After he falls in love with her, he discovers the reason behind her fear of commitment.

THE UNTOUCHABLES
Friday, Rete 4, 9.10 p.m.

Federal agent Eliot Ness's assignment to clean up Prohibition-era Chicago leads to violence and manly questions about upholding the law. Initially powerless to stop the flow of booze into the city, Ness finds guidance from an older streetwise cop who convinces him he'll need to break some rules if he wants to bring down head mobster Al Capone. Director Brian De Palma packs the film with violence and creative camera movements while David Mamet's intelligent script capably dodges cliché at every turn.
