The Michael Jackson documentary, "This Is It," has begun its worldwide launch. Major cities around the globe had exclusive premieres of the film yesterday. Today the movie will launch into full movie-domination mode, as it hits theaters around the world, including Malta, for a limited two-week run.
In other news, Bruce Springsteen cancelled a performance in Kansas City after the death of his cousin who was the assistant road manager of the E Street Band.
Actress Scarlett Johansson will make her Broadway debut starring in a revival of "A View from the Bridge," while the awards season officially kicked off in Beverly Hills, where some early Oscar favorites graced the red carpet for the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony. Oscar winner Hilary Swank was among those being honored for her role in the Amelia Earhart, biopic, "Amelia."
